Plan for Bentley Manor and Contest!!!

Here you can see the plan I have come up with for Bentley Manor!! I have layed out the main areas and also some essential furniture so I can get an eye for scale and how much room I have. Things that I will be changing from the original: I will remove a divider wall from the middle floor and will also be adding a conservatory on the left side. I might also raise the roof a bit in order to get in some more head room!

The rooms with the '?' in them are mysteries and will be revealed in the future....

If you want to reference the original house you can click here.

And here is the Contest:

The prize will be an extra point towards a give-away I will be having in the future sometime (it may not be soon but I will remember). NO LOOKING THIS UP ON THE INTERNET! Look at the plan (click on it and it will get bigger) and comment with the TWO 'Rooms' or 'Crime Scenes' that I have not included from the original game! The first one to comment with both of the correct rooms gets the point!

Good Luck everyone!

  1. How exciting! I have not played clue in sooo long. I am trying to remember, but don't think I can. Was there a ballroom? Ugh, I don't think I will win the point on this one :)

I think the plan looks great- I really can't wait for this house!

  2. Forgot to say that I will hold the comments until someone gets it right. This is so no one has a better chance than someone else by scanning any guesses :)

  3. Oh I know I won't get it but what the heck. Landing and toilet. No, I did not pick, just an intelligent guess from looking at your plan.

  4. Ah shucks, I can only remember one off the top of my head: ballroom. And I'm not even sure if there was a ballroom! Good luck to everyone else!

I love your professional plans! Looks like Mr. and Mrs. B are out home-shopping and got handed these plans by the realtor. Did you use Auto-CAD? I had to use it way back in high school to design and build a mini park for an assignment.

  5. Also, to clarify, ignore the spaces with the'?' marks .... they won't help you with the guesses....

I am looking for the names of the two rooms that are represented on the Clue gameboard that I have not shown on my plan :)

  6. I was looking at the question marks! lol. Anyway, I seriously cannot remember and I will abide by the rules ie no googling. So I guess its the powder room and hmm, since landing is not a room , then it is the Guest Bedroom. Haven't you named all the rooms? There are 8 on your map lol

  7. You did not mention the Parlor or the Basement.

  8. OK, since you are not posting any replies until someone gets it right, I went and looked at the game. I disqualify myself. Hall and ballroom. There. As I disqualified myself I did not cheat, but you made me go and look. I HAD TO KNOW!!! Ha ha ha. Great plans by the way.

  9. LOL...I can think of one, but for the life of me...I can't figure out the other:) Hmmmmm....

  10. Well, no one got it!! As you can see two posts above the answers were 'Hall' and 'Ballroom'. Those are the two rooms from the original game that I am not including my Bentley Manor! I will try something a bit easier next time!! And everyone needs to go play a round of Clue!!! or Cluedo!! :)

  11. I love the plans - especially can't wait to see the tiny billiard table! What color scheme are you planning to use? I think my old copy of Clue showed most of the rooms in jewel-toned colors.

  12. Belle, me too!! I have been looking up the billiard tables on ebay during lunch at work.... some of them are good.... some not so much :)

I think I am going to be sticking pretty close to the clue movie... have you seen it? There will def be some jewel tones!

  13. Ah-hah, so it's the hall! It's not that this contest was difficult, it's just that we all have poor memory! I use to play Clue all the time with my siblings as a child because I liked board games better than video games.

  14. Ara, I have a challenge for you on my blog :) Hugs, Marsha

  15. Missed the contest but wanted to comment on the plans for Bentley Manor. I love the rooms you included and the lovely porch! My only question/concern is placement of the fireplaces. Are you sure you want them flat against the wall tucked into a corner? I know you're thinking that, in real life, they'd share a flue. But perhaps an angled orietation would be better? ..except that does takes up a bit more room... Or maybe centered on the perpendicular wall?

  16. Tabitha, I see what you are saying about the placement... its less than ideal. Hmmm... I am not sure i could wrap my brain around them not sharing a flu though (I work at an Architecture firm so it is drilled into me - haha). I will def play around with how it looks before the final plans are set... thank you for the suggestions! -ara
